So my buddy back in Orlando (who I have worked on his car previously) Said his Tranny is dying. He said he can't get it to run in Drive. He said AAMCO wanted $2400 but he didn't say if that was out the door. So I told him to shoot Ed an email. If he is experiencing this what is his tranny's issue?

have him order a hd tranny from zzp if he wants a new one...

I had the same problem .. it wasnt the tranny itself it was the 4th gear shaft it gets striped you could order the hardend shaft and have that put in ... i am almost positive that is the problem

Just fourth gear. Iirc, it's made of a softer material and since the stock tranny and PCM setup makes the car gear hunt more than it should, it sounds like it managed to strip itself out. That's what mine did.

He can get it rebuilt for cheaper than getting another one.

What other symptoms of this 4th gear is definitely making it the clutch shaft replacement? He said he can drive in 1 and 2 but not 3 or D.

nationwide, a tranny rebuild is about 1,000-1,800 USD. In Savannah, I got one for 1300, and here in NM, it cost 1300.

He sent me a text saying $1100 to fix installing a used tranny with 56,000 on it. Found salvage in NC with warranty for 1 year parts and labor.

when that happened to me i got it fixed for FREE because i hdidnt have the car for even a week and it started acting up so they fixed it for nothing
