some advice on check engine light...

...get it looked at right away. i waited a good 6 months. turns out there was a hole in the top of the gastank and by waiting it slowly rotted into a bigger hole. they probably could have repaired it if i went right away, but instead i had to get a whole new tank for $210. with labor, $300.

i would have put the tank in myself if they were going to charge that much. not much more than the tank straps, disconnecting the filler tube and wiring for the fuel pump. i hope you got a new fuel pump out of the deal.
not to be pissy or anything, but usually i think most people, or atleast i am, want to know right away why the light is on.
kinda odd though that there was a hole in the top of it.

Kinda odd the computer knew that. Creepy... Must have sensed lost of pressure from pump.

Thats why carefull consideration should be given to the previous owner,if modded in any way take a close look at those mods an make sure they were'nt getto'ed ,if the previous owner drilled a hole in the tank was'nt the check engine light on when you bought it?
