If you get a DP without a cat, you need to weld it to the front side of the cat. The Ubend is on the other side of the cat. So, you'd still need to do the ubend delete.
just wanted to clear up that you dont necessarily need the ubend delete with a non-cat'd, and theyre available both ways.
