Not really a huge mileage as far as you gents are concerned but my baby (2000 White GTP Coupe) is quickly approaching the 100,000 kilometre mark...That's only around 60,000 miles, but since it's a jump to one more digit, it's a nice little milestone for us Canucks!
~Krishna
PS Oh yeah, original tranny of course!

As BryantGTP suggested, I don't know if I have the highest miles with an original tranny, but I'm up there.
I'm currently at 181K miles and still on the original tranny and engine. She isn't as quick as she use to be and her MPG has dipped a little, but otherwise is still running pretty good. I'm hoping to make it to at least 200K before I replace her.

i think its around 113,000 on her, but leaking oil like a champ after giving it fresh lube. probably going to have it looked at.
looks like it's coming from the valve covers and the oil pan gasket. i think it's more the valve cover gaskets though, cause it you can see it running down the block. i hope the valve covers will be the answer, because i don't think it's real easy to change the pan gasket without doing something with the engine.
the tranny still runs good though i guess, just need to have the filter and oil changed in it. that'll be another project when it's nice in charlotte.

That's about 30k per year. I have 13k after 5.5 months. That's almost on par with Marc. I live in the sticks. I don't usually drive less than 60 miles whenever I get in my car.

I have a little over 105k miles on my 98 GTP. It helps when you live 40+ miles from work. If I was driving my Grand Am to work, I'd probably bitch and moan about the commute, but I actually enjoy the drive with the GTP. Like Marc said, I'm hoping to get 200k miles on it before I replace it. The thing I'm wondering tho, is if its normal that I haven't replaced my rear brakes yet? I already replaced the fronts like 3 times, but the rears still look like they have some life left in em'. bryan

I'm glad to hear you've all had good luck with your GTP's... mine's an 02 with 30,000 miles and the only problem is that my fog light burned out.
I love this car and I hope it lasts as long as yours has

my tranny is at 95k, and doing well. But the first thing that has gone wrong on my 98 GTP is the fog light burned out. 5 years with no major problems. I am very happy with this thing.

The thing I'm wondering tho, is if its normal that I haven't replaced my rear brakes yet? I already replaced the fronts like 3 times, but the rears still look like they have some life left in em'. bryan [/QB] Sounds pretty normal especially(sp)if your doing alot of highway driving. The rears only do some hard clamping when you have to mash on the pedal to get the car to stop. If your easy on the brakes then the fronts do most of the work.

Yep, Marc has racked on the miles alright ... but his car is still MINT! Considering it was one of the first off the line, you could not believe the shine that car still has. Makes my Y2000 look like a bad case of car abuse!

What do you guys think about synthetic tranny fluids? I've heard differing opinions on them...

I have 183K miles on my original tranny and have using Redline synthetic in its since 40K miles. It's worked well for me and I'm sticking with it.

There are very differing opinions on sythetic tranny fluid. It's a really strange topic. I've used Mobil 1 synthetic ATF for all of my cars and never had a problem. People claim that synthetic makes the trannys slip and go with standard fluid, but I don't see anything like that in my car.

Some advice; change trans fluid and filter every 30-40,000 miles, and use synthetic fluid. 200,000 at least shouldn't be a problem at all, if not more!

yeah..Ive got a black 98 GTP w/ almost 106k on it and have had it for about 5 weeks now..got it on Feb. 20th..All Ive got to do is get the sunroof realigned and flush the tranny and put in a cooler for it..Hopefully nothing else will happen..had the supercharger replaced about 30k miles ago and had the lower/upper intake gaskets done the day before I got the car(The prev. owner was really nice in doing that for me!!) Anyway..yeah its a fun car to drive! Just need to get a little better gas mileage though..15-17 aint quite cuttin' it w/ gas being 1.65 a gallon..!
