First off, to add to my wonderful and growing list of imperfections in this wonderful car crazy When i turn the wheel left or right i get a grinding noise, like a high pitched one , not loud, but noticeable, it goes away when going straight. I know i need new brakes soon but what could be causing the noise?

Also, would straight piping + tips be a bad idea if i have the resonator taken out (which i do) ???

yes, horrible idea. stick with the stock mufflers. if you go aftermarket you will want to add a resonator back in.

Sounds like it may be your power steering. Does the whine sound anything like a demonated supercharger? Does it change pitch with rpms?

Sounds like a wheel bearing. As you turn more does it get louder? Most likely the wheel bearing, I had the same problem with my car and it was really annoying. It will just keep getting louder and louder until you fix it.

If I remember it was about $100 for the whole assembly and I installed it with my dad so we saved on labor.

yea i was thinking PS or the baring, but the noise wouldnt increase with a bearing if you turned it tho, its just constant, but PS is most possible, probably the pump, because before i fixed it there was a little "whine" to it when i turned

If you have a failing bearing on one side, you will be able to hear it when your wheel is straight. As you turn the wheel toward the failing hub while moving, the sound will go away because the weight shifts to the good one. As you turn the wheel away from the failing hub, the sound will stay the same or get louder.

Does not sound like a failing hub from the description.

1) Power steering or a wheel hub.

2) Do not do that. It sounds awful.
