I am thinking about putting a stripe on my car i am really a fan of this stripe http://www.zzpdecals.com/product_images/lg_side_streak.jpg but i dont want it to be a sticker im going to paint it on, i want some peoples ideas on this some sugestions i was thinking about was painting the stripe a sunburst metalic orange its more of a burnt orange color, but that might look to flashy/bright so another idea i had was to get a quart of clear coat and then some pearl or some metalic and adding that into the clear, so i would just mask it off skuff it good and then paint it in clear so it would be a ghost look i would use an orange pearl if i used pearl or some sort of metalic or aluminum i just want some peoples ideas

What color is your car? And what color or two colors are you deciding to go with most, and I'll see if I can try something in PS for you.

Ah now I see the orange you want, what the heck, didn't show up when I saw the car. I will redo it anyways since the car I shrunk down too much.

seems ALMOST blasphemous to put a MOPAR stripe on a Poncho, but hot damn it looks SOOOO good.
EDIT: but Rook, I REALLY like yours. I like yours so much more than the rough/primitive version. I just might do this to my own car.
hmmm, black on red or silver on red?

Sadly, I like mine to the point I started contemplating it for my car.
BTW, this ain't Mopar striping. It's much more elaborate ala the fender 4drgt posted.

wow. a burgundy stripe under a couple red coats and a few clears. wow. Jon, that is AMAZING work. Take pride in that.
EDIT: the only thing I would change on the above concept, though, is the placement of the hash marks there in the center of the door handles. also, what provisions for the gas door have you made? that has quite the potential to look unclean and very seamed. or is it seamy? seamful? aw, hell, not clean.

Actually, I removed the gas door to see what it would look like on the other side of the vehicle. The decal does clear the door on this side, if it was there. The hash marks were placed evenly, they just happened to land above the door handles, but if you removed them, I think it would unbalance it. I also tinted the windows and I have another version where the car is dropped about two inches with clear corners. The way I set up the layers, I can make the stripe ANY color. Honestly, the work wouldn't be that good if the side shot wasn't so nice. I'm also not happy with some spots in the stripe, the outline isn't as clean as I would like. Guess that's just how it goes, eh?

Personally I'm not a fan of graphics on GP's but if I had to pick one I'd go with that one. I like the white on white look on your car, only problem is it isn't really a GTP.

The last few are quite busy with the sections. I would go with the pearl one if you go with that many sections. Plus you have the idea, you can put those sections anywere you want when you paint. So they don't have to be cut over the handles or what not. And being a painterartist, Andrew, I would highly recommend getting into Photoshop just to save you money and wasted time on painting physical things and deciding if you like it or not. I really want to learn more about PS also.

Those aren't bad as long as your calipers are painted and you have decent looking rotors. That's just my opinion, because of how far the spokes on the rim are spread out.
