Does anyone know SPECIFICALLY how the tire pressure monitor works?

Not sure about the later models or the GTP's, but on my 97 GT, it utilizes the ABS sensors; when a tire's pressure drops, it's circumference changes also, the system looks for a variation in wheel speed and determines that one of the tires must be low on air--if all the tires are low, it'll never let you know it because they are still spinning the same speed.

That's why it can take 10-20 miles to determine if a tire is low

Stupid question but where does it indicate that your tire pressure is low ? and do all the gp models have this feature ?

do 98's have a sensor. I have been trying to find the button besides the steering column but nothing. does the computer get messed up if youdont reset it and change tires
