I live in the Tulsa, Ok area and all of the gas stations have discontinued 93 octane fuel. One of the guys working on the pumps told me that the refineries(sp) have quit producing it.

Has anyone else seen/heard this?

91 oct is now the high. Is this good enough for a GTP?

Mwahahahahaha. It had better be.

Here in Omaha, 91 is top notch. I have only seen 93 in a pipe dream on these forums.

High altitudes 91 octane behaves the same as 93 due to the lack of oxygen. I bet you guys even have 85 octane there don't you. As for no more 93 I haven't heard a thing. Maybe your local gas company decided they didn't want to carry it anymore and used the refinery as an excuse.

Could be. The place down the street still sells 110 octane. I always thought it was all the same basic gas with additives added in. I don't think there are any extra steps in the refineries to produce "premium".

I just got gas. Im kinda pissed. I went inside and put 40$ down on the counter, asked for 30$ worth of gas and the woman laughed at me. She said I should leave the extra 10 there. I put 30$ of premium in at 3.379 and I got 8.87 gallons. WTF! At least my tank will last me until fridayISH, barring no more high-boost activities on the way home. I was tailgating this newer maxima doing about 65 on a 45 road, got to a straight section, gunned it, boost gauge went to 8psi and I got a nice 105mph passing spree, barely missing a chevy pickup who decided it was the right time to back out of his driveway. mmm =/ close calls.

It's not just one gas station/company. Here we have Quicktrip, Kum & Go, Murphy USA(Wal Mart), Albertson's, Phillips 66 and Shell. They have all quit carrying 93. There used to be two gas nozzels on each pump, one for 87 thru 91 and one for 93. Every station I've been to has converted their pumps to 87 thru 91. That's alot of expense just to decide not to carry a few more additives. Don't you think? Herc, there is a speed shop here that has one pump spilling race gas (110 oct) but it's like $8 a gallon.

P.S. Herc, Wanted to let you know I am the proud new owner of a 2005 Vstar classic. Sweet ride and an incredible 50 mpg.

I don't know about you, but Nebraska, Kansas, and Oklahoma are far from high altitude (IMHO). I think the Alt where I live is like 1000 ft.....man I wish we could get 93 here (with out going and buying racing fuel!)

Around Atlanta they have 93 instead of 91. I rarely see 92.
