How long should I be able to go without adding more engine coolant? Does the S/C go through coolant a lot faster? I have only had the car since December but I had the engine coolant flushed in January. My "Low Coolant" light came on yesterday and I am just wondering if this is normal to have to add coolant every five months or so or if something is wrong.

Probably the coolant level sensor is gummed up. Try removing it and cleaning off the sensor part.

Did you check the coolant level?

Make sure the coolant is not leaking on the ground anywhere.

The manual says you shouldn't have to add any more than 4 times a year. *shrugs* don't know how accurate that is.

The Supercharger doesn't have coolent, it is lubricated by oil, which should be changed about 75k miles.

Yeah it is not leaking on the ground anywhere. I just added a bunch of coolant and water to the tank and I am going to keep a close eye on it and see if it goes down again. So is the consensus here that I have a leak or is it normal that my coolant was low after five months? It was not empty or leaking out so if its a leak it was a very small one that I couldn't find. Could it be burning coolant instead of leaking it or is this something that I shouldn't be worried about?

Probably a hose with a spring clamp is leaking when hot. Common problems unless you use a worm-style clamp, and it's usually unnoticeable until you're in a cold environment and can see the coolant steaming off from the joint. Another possibility is a leaky radiator cap.

If the four times a year that the owner's manual says is right, then five months is pretty good.
