I ran a search and still couldnt find the answer to my question so....

In my 98 GTP the auto dim mirror is starting to get blurry and you can see the fluid moving around in it...and its getting rather annoying.

Can I put one of the newer temp/compass combo mirrors in there? In other words, will it hook up just like the one in there now? Also, is the compass or the temp going to work since the temp is displayed on the heat/ac control screen?

Sorry, I have no idea. MY 2 pennies worth is: if the wiring is there for another function, just make sure the wiring is there for the mirror, and you should be plug and play. Hope you find the answer.

I imagine the compass would work but the temp i am not sure of, does your climate control show the outside temp? If it does, you may be in luck, if not the sensor would probably need to be installed.

If the mirror is cheap enough, give it a go and let us know.

Yeah, it shows the outside temp on the climate control.

I'm guessing if it did work it would only show up on the climate control or the mirror...it wouldnt show up in both places right?

Its hard to say....you need to see what connections the new mirror has and compare it with what wires you have going to teh mirror area, you might get lucky and the wiring is in place, if not you will have a nightmare trying to figure out what wire is what and how to splice them into the climate control.

I just had to replace my rearview mirror in my '98 GTP.

There are 3 wires going to the mirror ...a green, white and black wire.

I don't know if the other mirror will work on your '98, but if someone here can tell you how many wires go to the other one, maybe you could tell by that.

Mine did the same as yours ... the fluid leaking out. I got the replacement from Ed Morad. Send him an email and he'll tell you what he has.
