108, trannys are an issue with our cars

whats the probelem on the trannies this one has 177,000 tranny was rebuilt at 100,000 the side molding on the passenger side is comin off how hard is that to fix

Side molding is easy double sided tape.

tranny issues are usually shift solenoids and the like. Some have had issues while others havent

Power windows fail

Blower motor resistor (the part that controls your fan speed for your HVAC)

Idler pulley bearings freezing up causing pulley failure

front hubs.

One thing you have to remember is the list might look like it's building but you did buy an 11 or 12 (12 if produced in mid to late 96) car with very high mileage.

Remember the notorious wet passenger side floor, which is cause by a badly sealed cowl or a clogged sunroof drain (if equipped), which in the end tears up the blower motor and possibly the resistor as well.

...that was my first issue with my car.

No, not too many problems. Just basic stuff like burned out fog light and my check coolant light came on, but that's just because the sensor probably needs a cleaning. I do need some new brakes soon, that shouldn't be too bad. I took a semi-long road trip to Pittsburgh around X-mas time. I didn't break down, so that's a good thing. I've had my car since August of last year and i'm VERY satsified.

Actually we had a car show meet sometime in Feb. I think. A bunch of us got together and hung out. Check on that Indy forum, they have a meeting like once a month, I might try getting up there next time if I can. It's about an hour drive from where I am to Indy though and with gas prices the way they are, well you know.

Yeah, just log onto that forum, they are a bunch of cool guys. Get in touch with Sonny, he has a beastily car he's building. I think he's going turbo, so you're lucky you live out that way.

I know during the Summer they are going to the track a couple times in Muncie. That would probably be a drive and a half for you though. Right now my car is not "track worthy".
