Now when my key sticks, I notice I let it sit for 30-60 secs. I then will hear a click in the steering wheel...then all is well....I hope I don't end up with a 20 min. wait! My mechanic says take it to the dealer..he doesn't want to crack open the steering column or the consule...

Sounds like the key lock pawl doesn't drop right away. Probably needs to be regreased or could need a spring replaced. I haven't heard of that problem on our Grand Prixs, but I work for a company that makes steering columns. Hope things work out for you (and doesn't cost you much either)
