I havent installed them yet but i also got the plates to reduce the pogo for the top of the strut. Would Monroe struts be any better than the KYB gas ones?

No, no no! KYB's, although they aren't really "performance" like everyone tends to think, will be worlds better than Monroes. I just talked to a KYB rep last week here at work, and got a pretty thorough description and brief presentation on the differences between them and the others. Monroe makes a good product, but I've seen them leak many times in recent years. KYB's are a little more expensive sometimes, but they are the best OEM type replacment shock or strut out there.

I second that...KYB's are the best buy for the money.
I've always used KYB's on just about everything I've ever owned.

I bought the 4 cups that http://www.clubgp.com/cgi-asp/mods.asp?modid=68 told me to.

and these mounting kits
http://www.partsamerica.com/SelectParts.asp?SourceArea=SHOP&PartType=1352&PTSet=A&Description=Shocks&SourcePage=PartTypes&SearchFor=Shock%2C+Mounting+Kits

Those parts that you bought from gm should have been factory installed on all cars. As for the Pogo effect this will not completely eliminate but will make it a lot nicer. I second this Austin guy (sorry) get some pics when its done!!!!!

I should also mention, don't rule out Gabriel either. I use the ACDelco branded shocks and struts here, which are basically re-packaged premium Gabriels, and have been very happy with them with no warranty issues at all in about 4 years.

It should lower it by about an inch to an inch and a half.

I haven't installed those on my car; I meant that that's what I use here at work, and they've been great. They're purposely manufactured about 15% stiffer to compensate for worn springs, bushings, mounts, etc. that are most likely worn after about 50k. They don't effect ride height at all; they're just replacement struts. If you install new springs and mounts, that tends to correct ride height problems more that shocks or struts.

Has anyone come across running into more potholes than usual after the lowered suspension??? Hey, I live in Chicago and there are potholes. Not only that, but there are alos steep driveways to consider?

I am thinking about lowering my suspenion but then I thought about this?

Any suggestions or ideas towards a package?

The rough roads and driveway entrances are what are keeping me from lowering mine. Well that and the cash involved :banging head:
