I dunno, I just got my fwi from WBody store and my mechanic installed it. It sounded nice when I was driving home, kinda like a nice vip and vacuuming sound but this morning when I turned on my car it sounded terrible. It was making a loud gurgling, hollow like sound. When I drove off it went away. When I parked at work,, I turned it off then turned the car back on and the noise wasn't there. So 8 hours later after work I go outside, turn on my car and I hear that loud gurgling, hollow sound from the fender side where the cone is....is this normal???? Damn to a regular person they must think my engine is shot or something!

When the engine is warming up, it will sound like that and is perfectly normal. I think it sounds cool. You don't have to worry about it though.

Thanks man, you put my mind at ease. I thought it had something to do with it warmin up. I was so depressed over this I thought I screwed my engine up! Lol. My neighbor sitting on his stoop gave me a look like I was driving a piece of junk, it was just SO loud at first.

The stock airbox has all kinds of silencers and such to keep it quiet. When you put in an aftermarket intake, you lose that quietness. It's perfectly normal like Kevin said

Yeah its normal. Its the EGR... letting a bunch of exhaust gasses into your intake, making it easier for your cold engine to run and warm up, reducing nitrous-oxide, and saving a bit of gas.

You might not even really notice a MPG increase. but you probably gained 4-5 hp and 1-2 mgp on a good day

The important thing is that it's a supporting mod for a smaller pulley!

as you already know from the other guys yes its normal, also when you hit the gas and put the engine under boost you should hear alittle S/C whine, which get addicting after a while and you start loosing MPG.
