Your not gonna get more than muffs and tips for that much, tell him to get a u-bend delete and pick out some mufflers and tips from his company of choice unless you guys have a place to do some welding you will need to pay around 100 bucks to install and get'em welded on depending on where you go.

Personally I suggest the Flowmaster 40 series if you wanna be real loud and super 40 series if you want a loud but more deep toned sound, I absolutely love mine and I only spend about 300 total 120 for the muffs 110 for the SLP tips and 80 for the install. I have heard the Magnaflows are pretty nice too.

You can get the muffs for about 40 bucks each through Ebay. The seller is performance peddler he has a buy now option and ships them right away.

It will be more quiet than your SLP, but many would say it sounds better than the SLP, with the deep rumbling sound.

As far as flow goes with the U-bend I believe yes it is comparable.

3800 performance has the dynomax catback for $400. Sometimes it will go on sale for around his price. From the soundclips I've heard, it sounds pretty good and the mufflers are less restrictive than the flows.

Probibly are better off with flowmasters though. I heard the loudmouth a couple times in person and it sounds good inside the car, but I wasn't impressed on the outside. I haven't heard the GTX system yet. It's quiter than the loudmouth.

You dynoed 15 more whp with the SLP!!!!! Holy crap!!!!!! No seriosly did you? Generally dont see a huge Gain i prefer the sound of flowmasters over the slp or just no mufflers and keep cat and resonator. that will run about 150.

You got the entire SLP loudmouth set tho right not just muffs? I got around 12 total for my u-bend delete muffs and tips so that makes sense at 15 for the entire exhaust. Its not alot if you think about it the u-bend delete gets between 4-7 and the more free-flowing muffs with tips get around 4 or 5 at least. Digital are you sure that dynomax are less restrictive than flowm's? While reading up on flowmasters I found that flowmasters arent very restrictive at all, you may be right ive just never heard that.

Ive actually heard alot of bad things about the SLP loudmouths sound, I heard some of the other SLP exhausts sound much better. Im certain you dont need to trash the whole 600dollar project, you could modify your current setup and change the sound completely, I dunno how it would sound mixing brands but thats what I would do.

My suggestion would be change the mufflers and tips, should completely change the sound, if you have the straightpipes for your tips I would get something different from what ive seen straightpipes make the sound louder.

Just double, and triple check your measurements for your current exhaust and make sure the new product you buy will match up, It will probably be between 80-120 bucks to do the weld and get you all situated but its better than ebaying your SLP for 300-400 bucks and paying the diff then paying to reinstall the entire exhaust.

I really feel they should advertise the loudmouth with a note letting you know its loud or have a soundbyte, ive heard it a few times honestly on GP's I always think "that must be the most annoying sound to drive around with daily" however if I was constantly at the track and didnt use it for anything else I wouldnt mind it as much.

Hope this helps

You are not serious no cat back exhaust will give you 15whp(comeon)your biggest exaust gain is not the cat back because this is not where your major restriction is ,you would get more gain with a RAT DP or a custom DP high flow cat and u-bend delete ,If you can post dyno charts for your claim I will eat my words,do not believe product claims ,an example with PEM's ,3" DP ,NO cat ,2 1/2' custom pipeing to summit turbos I gained 13.2 whp at 4200 .FYI :rolleyes:And tell me this cowboy why in heavens name didn't you get the slp stainless cat back system for $544.,stainless does'nt rust in case you did'nt know .

if he got 12 for muffs and tips whats so hard to believe about 15 for the whole set. When you think about it that's not a whole lot. No prob I'm not to good with computers but I'll get the dyno results and post them...

12 whp just from muffs and tips? Doesn't sound right to me. Maybe once you throw in the Ubend delete and downpipe. Stock U bend back is not that restrictive at all.

Think about it if guy's are spending almost a grand for headers and DP and only getting around 18whp which is about 10% increase ,how do you think the cat back which is not all that restrictive would give you 15whp ,naww fraid not ,and though aftermarket muffs may sound nice you're not going to gain much in the way of HP.
