Well my 2002 Grand Prix Gt has 58,000 miles.
When I turn on the heater and put the fan
speed on number 2, I then hear a rattle.
Its louder on 2 than speed 3 or 4.

What could that noise mean?

drop the blower motor, clean all the leaves and pine needles outta there, then install a cabin air filter for a 2000 Buick Regal GS.

Underneath/behind the glove box. Drop that lower cover panel and its right there. I had to replace mine. For $60 it was worth it.
