Has anyone had any problems with their factory alarms randomly going off? For the past 4 or 5 days, mine has randomly set itself off once a day either in the evening or during the night.

You may have a problem between the door lock or trunklid switches and the BCM (Body Control Module), or you can try adjusting the shock sensor. Remove the panel below your steering column; the shock sensor should be mounted on a bracket to the right of the column. Turning the sensor knob to the left should lower the sensitivity. If this doesn't work, then you may have an electrical problem somewhere. Good Luck!

I didn't know that you can adjust the shock sensor on our cars. That is going to keep me from buying an aftermarket alarm.

It think some models, either early or late, lack the shock sensor.

For 98 GPs there are three different BCMs; you must have BCM Type 4 (RPO code UA6) to have the content theft deterrent system (shock sensor). Not sure about other year GPs, however. smile
I figured it's worth checking into; an alarm that goes off without good reason is annoying, to say the least... wink
