WOW...lot's of info..this board is great...i'm gonna try the temp sending unit first and do the water pump since I already have it. I'll let you know how I make out.

quick question...just picked up the temp SU on my lunch break. I'm assuming it's mounted on the block somewhere, but where?

It's on the right side of the engine next to the thermostat, just behind it.
