Does anyone know what this Engine slap is about....is it gonna kill my engine or what?...I heard there is some kind of recall for this and I just wanted some info if it is available...thanks for the input

You're probably talking about piston slap. It's when the piston is cold, it is smaller than the bore it is in. This causes it to rock and hit the sides of the bore. When the piston warms up, it grows and no longer can rock.

It is not something that will hurt your engine, just an annoyance.

thanks because someone I know has the 3100 egine and told me it will eventually break and cause me to buy a new engine all together.....thanks again for the input...

90% of engine wear comes from cold engine startups. (except hard driving, no oil etc.)
This is why good oil is critical. Also an additive that coats the cylinder wall. Also important NOT to rev the engine when cold. Start and let it idle.
