Do I need any special tools for replacing a wheel bearing on my '97 gp? I have a bad ABS sensor. I've never replaced one before. What are the steps? Looks like I need to take the wheel nut off then the three bolts on the knuckle but I'm not sure where to go after that. Will a code reader tell me which sensor is bad or is there any other way to tell? The abs light, check tire pressure light, and low traction lights come on after a minute or two of driving and then I have no ABS. I've been told this is a bad abs sensor.

yeah yopu can have it scanned by a special tool, a regular scanner wont find it. thats pretty much it to replacing it. just make sure not to pinch the new abs wires and not to damaged the hgasket thats behind it.

you'll need a 36 mm socket for the axle nut. there's a write up on hercman's page.

I did mine about 3 weeks ago. The first one took 1.5 hours the 2nd one only took about 30 minutes. HERC's web site is what I used. It would also help when you go to remove the old one if you could grow a 3rd arm. Or just have a little help for that one part, but you can do it alone. Good luck.
