These is another in the middle of the car underneath the front seats in the exhaust system. Should be on the passenger side of the exhaust, where the "ubend" is.

I've always read that the rear O2 sensor has nothing to do with fueling. It only tells the PCM if your cat is working correctly or not. So I doubt it will fix your problems. Also... which brand of O2 sensor did you put in on the top one when you replaced it?

It's also possible that you have a bad injector or a bad injector o-ring. That could cause tiny amounts of gas to leak out, thus causing you to smell it.

Extremely common for injector o-rings to go bad. Its the cause of most engine fires on 3800s. I would definetly replace them to anyone who hasn't!!
(you need two for each injector. zzp sells them in 6's, but its a standard o-ring size)

You really need to check this out. Dont go around driving it or even starting it. Or else you might lose your GP for good. Lots of horror storys have been caused by an old injector o-ring! Please check this soon. Is there any fuel on the valve covers and/or LIM?
