Ya no in all honesty it was probably you learning how to launch the car. The reason why no one will believe either one of those helped you is because it takes alot more than 5hp with a cai to gain you 3/4 of a second. Unless you launched like crap the first time.

Then again when running 15's it doesn't take that much power but deff more than 5hp. It takes us turbo cars 5psi of boost added on to crack down a second usually which is well over 70hp so I really don't see your cai getting you down 3/4ths but like I said 10's and 11's are alot harder to crack than 15's.

well im sure i know how to drag race, i have been racing for 19 years. i was just saying it picked up after i installed those. like i said it could have been the car getting used to being raced, the air or something. but im sure those helped some. i know all about what you can get from incresed hp among other things.

And since you have been racing for so long you should know that an Intake even on high cpr motors does not net you that much. The intake is not the pinnacle point on the build. Sure the intake manifold most defiantly for cfm's etc but the filter?...

well there isnt many performance parts for the 3.6 in my torrent gxp. so i dont have plans for doing much with it, except haveing a custom exhaust made with a flowmaster muffler. hopeing that will free up some power to atleast put it in the high 14's. but i will put most of my time and money in my 98 grand prix gtp and my 87 mustang gt.

Lose the tornado.

Just think about it. How does the air travel from there? How is the maifold laid out? All that swirling doesn't do jack squat. Once it gets a couple of inches past the tornado any cyclonic action is probably gone due to the intake manifold design. If anything it hinders airflow.

Now on carb'd motors there might have been some benifit because of the inefficeint air fuel mix. Having the cyclonic could have helped with dispersing the fuel droplets out of the carb.

If you put the Torrent on a dyno with the tornado and without and you can show the tornado made an improvement I'll eat my underwear.

as long as my flux capacitor works correctly,and my butt dyno is showing the correct numbers:)

yea the 3.6 makes decent hp. they are developing a supercharger for the 3.6 in the new camero. i wonder if it will fit on my torrent lol. i dont know if the tornado made a hp increase or not, but it feels more pepier and it picked up in the quarter when i added it and the k&n. the only dyno in this area is a chasie dyno, hard to put my torrent on that with it being awd.

For someone that has been drag racing for 19 years I would presume that you would know a thing or two about motor efficiency. I guess I'm looking at it from the point of people who build cars to race them idk you may just race everyday street cars.

It would be extremely hard for me to believe you race fast cars i.e 11sec and lower and trapping over 120 and still think the tornado helps.

2fast4u, i didnt say that the tornado helped, i just stated that after i installed the k&n and tornado that my torrent gxp picked up in the quarter, dont know if it was the install or from it breakin in, good air ect. thats all i was sayin, no need for the smartass comments. chrisgt, i know more than you think, and again i didnt say the tornado helped, just that it picked up after i installed it and the k&n, it could have been many things that helped it. i might not have raced a 11 second or faster car, but dont mean i dont know about drag raceing, it isnt how fast u go, its how consistant you are. i do race a 87 mustang gt wish a 5 speed that runs 12.70's with stock heads and cam, with just bolt ons. so i think i know quite a bit about drag raceing.

If someone reads these two quotes especially the first one where you say the BEST things you can get are the filter and the tornado they will say oh he thinks the tornado is good and guess why? Because you just said the only two BEST things you can buy are the tornado and filter. You said it was good just admit it and don't try to back out of it once you already said it. Everyone called you out on it because you said it was good. And you didn't say that it was just the filter that gained you that much you said it was the tornado and the filter.

I really don't care how many times my car traps 130 I only care that I reached my goal.

9 and below and or 130+ trap is fast

10-11 and or 120-130 trap is quick

12 and slower trapping under 115 is alright

Anything slower than 13's and barely scraping and or below 100 is slow.

I wasn't calling you out on it because like I said I don't know how much you know but anyone that says something dumb like the tornado is good really doesn't come off as someone that knows much if anything. Again no offense you could be an awesome racer but I'd think someone who likes racing so much would know a few things about the mechanical side of things. Not just clutch shift go.

Again if you have been doing it for 19 yrs your damn older than so don't think this is being disrespectful because I respect loads of builders on here like chico, corey, hutch, 2fast4u etc.
