I have a 2004 GT2 and I wouldn't give it up for the world. I do a lot of expressway driving. Over 30,000 miles a year. I don't rag on my car, but I drive usually 75 mph. I average between 29 and 31 miles per gallon driving at that speed. When I combine it with some city driving, it drops a mile or two.
I owned a 2001 GP before this one. I actually think it cornered better, but the ride was very bumpy. The 2004 has a nice balance of handeling and ride comfort. I don't think you'd be disappointed.
Another thing is that there are a lot of cool upgrades you can do. And not just for performance, but for bling! I just started putting some cool things like aluminium motor mounts and aluminium support bars. Chrome oil breather. The chrome grilles and headlight covers.
www.3800performance.com is a great place to get some nice upgrades as is pfyc.com.
