Like Crimpton said, new models can be trouble, although the GP is built in the "award-winning Oshawa, Ontario plant" which hopefully means less initial problems
My '97 has had relatively few problems over the years, if that's any help.
I'm sure you can get a better deal on the '03, but of course the '04 has improvements and features not on the '03 so it depends how much they're worth to you.
I don't think depreciation will be that much of a difference, especially if you keep the car more than 4 years.
I went with the '04 because I wanted something different from my '97, but you're getting something different anyway, so that's not a factor.
