if you want an 04 that is collectible, get a barbados blue M6 or Auto or a cosmos purple M6 or Pulse Red M6. those are the rarest colors and Im pretty sure the cosmos/M6 is the rarest color/trans combo. Not sure what tranny is scarce in the Barbados but its prob M6 also since I havent seen many of those in my searches of dealers. Both of those colors are an 04 only RPO color

The PULSE RED that is hitting dealers now is a Holden exclusive color and was limited to the last 800 or so GTOs produced. that is also somewhat rare and IMO looks better than the torrid red. (sorry Jizz). It also has silver gauges and seat stiching instead of red.

You will have an easier time finding the pulse red than cosmos or barbados now that PRs are finally hitting the shores. BUT Id bet dealers will try to play the :special limited color so pay more" card. IF they want to commit suicide anyway.

Barbados blue and cosmos purple are gone for 05 and replaced by cyclone grey and midnight blue. IMO both are GREAT colors.

The GTO will be aussie built for 04/05/06 with an american design coming in 07 suposidly. I would imagine that they all depend on sales.

The great speculation now is WILL the 05 sell like hotcakes or will it tank like the 04 because of dealer tacking on $3,000-5,000 to MSRP like they did the 04. Now that prices with the $3500 rebates are down to $28,000 or so, (and you can get them for a little bit less if you try hard) they are selling rather briskly. Sept/Oct were the best sales months for the GTO so far.

IF there are 05s discounted next fall I will buy one but GM has put out statements that all of 05 production will be done NOW and will end by May of 05 so that ALL GTOs will make it here to be sold in spring-early fall. There wont be any trickling to our shores in late fall like now. That will limit their availability toward the end of 05 (if they sell) and will help dealers sell during the summer months wtih plenty of supply. Unlike the 04s. Only problem is 05 insurance rates for the 400hp motor will prob be higher than the 350hp 04.
