The
transition in the GTP's is the 4T65-E, but on one site that
dealt with
the install of the oil cooler as well as the interceptor
specified that
there were two options that Pontiac installed in the 98's -
the 4T65-E
and the 4Y60-E. Do you know anything about this? My manual
does not
say anything about the actual numerical designation of the
transition
and I need to know due to the shifting problem I encounter
when the
fluid gets warm. I have installed the Auto Trans
Interceptor to
increase the fluid pressure. It is only for the 4T65-E and
it is right
now on the lowest setting. The problem is that I experience
a fairly
significant jerk when the tranny shifts from 1st to 2nd.
This concerns
me as I wonder what would happen if I increased the pressure
to higher
settings and it would feel like dropping the trany when I
shift. When I
start driving and the fluid is cold the shift is extremely
smooth. Does
that mean ( even with a complete fluid change ) that my
100,000 km trany
is just too old to install a module that would increase the
pressure of
the lines?
