- Problem Abstract: Supercharger leaking oil
- Reported By: Michael (seanmsr@azstarnet.com)
- Year: 1998
- Model: GTP
- Mileage: 7000
- Applicable Options:
- Solution: Dealership will "REPLACE" the "WHOLE SUPERCHARGER" under warranty. Qoute from dealership: "Its easier to replace the supercharger then to fix the leak, money is not a problem!" loaner car? you betcha!
- Cost: warranty
- Other: For you people who's warranty is expired beware: If you take your GTP in to have your supercharger oil checked.. make sure they put in "GM" certified supercharger oil. (comes in a small bottle of pure synthetic-clear oil) This oil is extremely expensive at $6.00 / 4oz. The dealership I went too put in regular engine oil, they (Pontiac) did'nt know better... or did not care, because there going to replace the supercharger anyway under warranty.... Read your car manual, get to know your car inside and out, and keep "ALL" of your reciepts! or it could cost you big time in the wallet. Good luck.
