You can either buy one from one of the vendors listed in the
Best Place for GP Performance Parts thread, or make one yourself.

Tell your buddy he needs to go back to school on autos.

The CAI's for the NA cars are exactly the same for the S/C'd cars. And in all reality the L67 benifits more from it then the L36s.

There's a few premades out there but it's easy to make your own.

Ill point him to look at the FAQ section on the forum.

1997-2003 GTP 3.8 = L67 = Supercharged Motor
1997-2003 GT 3.8 = L36 = Naturally Aspiratied Motor

Tell your friend Mr. Automotive guy there are hundreds of aftermarket parts for these cars.

The MAF is attached to the Throttle Body. Your intake mounts from there. Very easy. A street coupler, an elbow and short piece of pipe and you can have a FWI or you could have an open cone. And from the open cone you can build a box around it. There are plans for one in the FAQ thread.

Once you install the CAI you can reset the PCM by disconnecting the battery cable for 10-15 minutes. This step is optional, but it certainly wouldn't hurt anything.

Here's a couple of how-to links to help you along:

http://www.grandprix.net/upgrades/intake.html

http://www.grandprix.net/upgrades/intake2.html

For a cone filter, consider this one: AEM 9"X4" CONICAL DRYFLOW AIR FILTER ELEMENT 21-2059DK

Your PCM will be out in the open now, so be sure to secure it so the wiring harness doesn't come in contact with the cone filter, as it can rub through the wiring. Zip ties, Velcro or a PCM Tray will help keep it neat and tidy.

Plans for the box: Make your own CAI

Once it's done, you can impress your buddy with the louder whine your supercharger will make.. wink
